A samples week

This week has been mostly dedicated to characters design and samples, but I've also finished this spread page!

As I supposed, the split panel hasn't been a great idea, but it turned out fine anyway.

Some characters design in progress for Dawn of the Dad:

I'm really happy with the colors, but I'm not quite sure about the first girl.

Bonus: samples I've been asked for a couple of possible jobs (to be finished)

Antho aren't my thing, definately.

New school project, whooohooo! (and portfolio on its way, too)

Still remaking pages from last year. I really liked this one in terms of storyboard, so I kept it the same, enhancing the drawings. I'm planning to go with watercolors again (there's some more background on the right half, but I left it in pencil and it seems the scan cannot take everything up). Anyway the sheet is big and I had to cut the two pages apart...before realizing I have to color that split panel on top. I can't wait to find myself trying to fix the vertical splitting line. Yeeeeeah.

We started the new school project! This is gonna be fun. And easy to draw. I want it to be super graphic. I love the results I get with watercolors, but I need to change from time to time. Ladies and gentlemen, the first characters sketches!

Getting back to digital coloring (slowly and carefully)

I need to switch tecniques and styles quite often, it seems. I was doing so well with watercolors, and this is the latest. Mmh.

I guess the bigger problem here is that I'm not so patient to keep up with the amount of details the most recent pages required. Let's see if switching to something graphic for the next project helps.

Still working on cover arts, too. This is for Rider! Still waiting for review and approval, so it's probably not going to be the definitive version

No idea why in the storyboard I made the bike going right-to-left. It's also more difficult to draw this line that way.

Cover art!

It seems like all of the issues I've been drawing lately ended up in the same moment, right in time to force me to move to do all the covers one after another. I'm so grateful for those that give me the graphics to add, because I really hate to decide on the title looks and similar.

This is for the school project. I noticed I hadn't a real title for it, because the story actually sucks and it's completely different from the one I wanted to write...but it was my first script, I understand. So basically, the main character's name seems to work well enough.

Chaos Campus is still in the making, as you can see by the rough stage of the cover. I love it anyway.

And last but not least, I'm re-coloring the cover art for an upcoming project about Tomoe Gozen's life. Now that I'm adjusting to watercolors it feels so weird and difficult to make proper use of digital coloring. I'm not sure I like it, but it improved a lot since the first version
